If you are an artist, designer or art student and would like to work with clay, we can help you realise your project. To date we have worked with textile designers, jewellers, painters, sculptors, printmakers and illustrators; students, recent graduates and established professionals. This service is for specific projects; for making ongoing work or projects not requiring technical input or tuition, we would recommend the studio hire instead. You may also choose the inclusive individual tuition rate- see the bespoke workshop page. Get in touch to discuss your requirements and we can advise on the best option.
There are two options:
1) Focused tailored individual tuition – £22 per hour.
2) Working independently with occasional technical support/advice – £15 per hour.
You may choose to start with a few hours of tuition and move onto working independently. For those with no prior experience we would require a minimum of 2 hours tuition at the start. Sessions can be between two and six hours. Materials are costed separately. You can either order your own or use the materials in stock at the studio (we can discuss this with you and advise on the best materials for your project and approximate costs). Firings are done for you. Included in the price are: firing costs, preparation and any relevant technical support as needed during your project. Please note: we don’t offer a firing service for work made elsewhere; you will need to book either project support or studio hire.
Available days/times are Tuesdays – Fridays between 10 and 5 (subject to availability). For any project with a specific deadline, we would advise planning this at least 4-6 weeks before as ceramic processes can take some time. You will be invoiced at the end of each month, or at the end of the project for short projects (payment terms 1 week).
To discuss your project get in touch using the contact form below. We will arrange an initial meeting at the studio to look at your requirements in more detail and plan dates, content and approach (there is no charge for this).
